“When humans participate in ceremony, they enter a Sacred space. Everything outside of that space shrivels in importance. Time takes on a different dimension. Emotions flow more freely. The bodies of participants become filled with the energy of life, and this energy reaches out and blesses the creation around them. All is made new; everything becomes Sacred.

Ceremonies are interwoven into our collective human experience. They underpin many of our deepest emotional landscapes, from our most euphoric celebrations to our most sombre and painful moments.

No matter which culture we investigate we find the use of ceremonies dating back to the earliest traces of civilisation. We have used them to communicate change to our social group, for our devotions and in the making of declarations and commitments. They have provided the framework for the witnessing of key moments and events in our lives, and in our history.

Is ceremony relevant today?

Although in some cultures its presence is lessening, most of us will be involved in, or experience, ceremony at some point. We still use it to mark beginnings and endings, birth and death, time and seasons, celebrations of change and transformation, the opening and closing of great games and contests, and to acknowledge great achievements.

Can ceremony help to transform consciousness?

A ceremony is a symbolic process, and it has been long understood that what we call our “sub-conscious mind” responds very well to the language of symbols. The language of ceremony, through symbols, can reach beyond the communication available through words alone. This has been demonstrated by its use for thousands of years in providing a safe pathway for changes and transitions to occur, and be integrated gracefully into our lives.

Ceremony offers a structure or framework which allows our sub-conscious experience to unite with our conscious understanding. It has also been used by healers, from many different traditions and cultures, to provide a sacred and safe space for the transformation of emotional wounds and physical ailments, and to assist people in coping with and turbulent times.

Ceremony and The Delight Makers

Ceremonies are built from the most ancient traditions, cultivated and developed over thousands of years, into the highest and most reverent art form. They are a means of bringing humanity into direct contact with our ancestors, the ancestors of our creation.

The Delight Makers Alchemy events will be conducted within the framework of a ceremony. The Alchemy ceremonies will differ from place to place as they are being designed to honour the most ancient traditions of the land in which each event is to be held. In addition to the honouring of the ancestors, they will also provide for the welcoming of all people, you, into this new journey and space, a space that is being created for transformation and magical discoveries.

The ceremony will provide a framework to mark the change and awakening in you; the letting go of old sorrows and the welcoming of your new life and the freeing of chains, ready for Delight Making. And then, as with the best of all great ceremonies, there is the element of celebration and the marking of the closing of the day along with the honouring of the amazing contribution of all of the participants, you.
